Mercer Island Lodge No. 297 meets the first Thurdays of the month at 7:30 P.M with a social hour at 6:00 PM and dinner at 6:30 PM ( Please RSVP for the dinner) except for July and August.  Lodge is held at the following location:

The Vulcan Lodge #229 Traveling Gavel

The Vulcan Lodge #229 Traveling Gavel is in its seventh year and has now traveled 73,066 miles to 176 Lodges in five countries on four continents plus traveled on a cruise of the Caribbean and been held by eighteen Grand Masters.

It has recently been passed and presented by the brethren of Robert Burns Lodge #243 to St Johns Lodge #9 in North Seattle. The brethren of St Johns then presented it to Renaissance #312 in Redmond, Washington on August 27th. They presented it to Mercer Island #297 on Sept 6th who presented it to Lakeside #258 in Bellevue, Washington on September 10th.

When and where the gavel goes to next is at the will and pleasure of the brethren receiving the gavel. The gavel has been requested to be at an event on October 6th in Blackhill, England for Provincial Grand Master (Durham), RW Norman Eric Heaviside, to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of their consecration.
